Ms. Lorena Kopacz, an Early Childhood Education educator for the last 14 years, founded Sunshine Scholars Inc., in early 2023 by acquiring a previous daycare, renaming and re-imaging it. The location had been a daycare for over 30 years and came with an amazing team. Over the first year not only was the facility upgraded. The capacity of the school has grown as well as the number of staff members. Today we are licensed for 61 children and hold true at almost full capacity at all times.
In August 2023, she purchased another daycare in the same area which is Lectura Montessori School. Again, Ms. Kopacz changed this school by making changes to the building and adding more qualified staff members to the team. Originally coming in with a capacity of 35 children, Ms. Kopacz was able to redesign the school to hold a capacity of 82 children. Like they say if you build it they will come. We have had an enrollment increase with students and great staff additions to the team. Within a few months of having the new capacity increase of children, the school is on its way to full enrollment in no time.
Ms. Kopacz’s support from her staff and families allows her to keep the growth of her schools as well as her ambition to grow her brand. With a strong focus on community in our schools, we are able to provide a great working environment for staff while giving our attending children the best care as well as education.
